Chatter - Jets

Is Belichick really in the hot seat?
This is the week 7 chat room. You can access this article with the "chat room" link on the menu bar. These are some topics I would like to discuss in the comments section below:

--Brandon Bolden vs Stevan Ridley in clock-killing. Who should grind out these wins? Is Bolden even going to play?

--Gronk Too Hurt to play? He can still block, but he looks like he's in serious pain after he gets tackled.

--Laron Landry and Yeremiah Bell as the complete contrast of the imfamous Belichick Can't Draft Defensive Backs Theory.

These guys are free-agent signees, veterans. Bell is a tackling machine, having registered 100 tackles 4 times in his 9 year career. Landry has registered some nice seasons with The Redskins, but he's had trouble staying on the field. As long as these guys stay healthy, the Jets are set at Safety. Injuries took Gregory and Chung off the field last game, so we know all about injuries.

--Darrelle Revis out, Landry/Bell in. Can we all agree that this is an unfamiliar Jets team? The Jets have some serious potential to surprise because there's players that we haven't seen with Gang Green.

--Gang Green Gang? Does that make The Patriots The Power Puff Girls? Well, I suppose it does. But we all know how the cartoons turn out, don't we. Wouldn't you rather be Sugar, Spice, and 3 World Championships than The Constant Guarantee?

--C'mon Jets Trolls. Where you at?

Comments

  1. Landry and Bell are over-the-hill. Landry was always overrated. Bell is a great player, but I just think he's a run-stuffer that can be exploited in the passing game.

    1. His tackle numbers have declined since he hit 120 in 2008, and his passes defended numbers have dropped as well (from a high of 13). I think you might have a point. He's not a FS, but he is a fearsome tackler, and that's still valuable.

    2. Landry has been injury prone the past few years with the Skins..

    3. How do you think the Jets would be if they had to switch to their two Back-up safeties. Epic no names Josh Bush and Eric Smith would probably be no better than Ebner and Wilson.

    4. Even in limited seasons, Landry has been a solid force at Safety. I think the Jets did pretty well in the free agent market. I wonder if BB had any interest in these guys?
