Stats Are For Losers - Bills, pt. 2

Now that we are in the second half of the season, the numbers are what the numbers are. It has gotten to the point where we need to accept the identity of our team. The good news is, we have a big advantage on paper against the Bills.

The Patriots are better in every Offensive category, excepting that they've allowed a few more sacks than Buffalo. Defensively, The Patriots are better in every category except sacks, passing yards allowed, and completion percentage allowed. Considering all the heat The Patriots secondary has taken, where is the recognition for having a great run Defense? At least it looks good compared to Buffalo's run D.

The Bills are allowing nearly twice as many yards on the ground, but they have a slight edge in pass D numbers. However, The Bills pass Defense is nothing to brag about. The story is really contained in the turnover ratio. The Patriots have forced 14 fumbles and 9 INTs (23 combined), but The Bills have only managed 15 combined turnover opportunities. Likewise, The Bills are giving the ball away twice as often as The Patriots. Fitzpatrick and friends have turned it over 18 times, but Brady and company have only relinquished it 9 times. Overall, The Patriots have turnover ratio advantage of +20 over The Bills.

The Bills only chance to win is to force turnovers and protect the ball. The numbers say they haven't been good doing that, so what is to say that they'll change? I am still predicting a rout by The Pats.
