So, this week's match-up offers a drastic gap between the stats of the two teams. New England's defense is comparable, but no doubt superior to Jacksonville's defense. New England is allowing teams to pass for more yards, but they give up fewer rushing yards, and most importantly fewer TDs. Likewise, New England is better at sacking the QB and forcing turnovers.

The gap is not as pronounced on defense as it is on offense. While New England ranks among the elite, Jacksonville ranks among the historically inept. Any time your team converts less than 30% of their 3rd downs, you know you've got problems moving the football. Likewise, allowing your QB to be sacked 42 times in 14 games is just not acceptable. It's no wonder Gabbert is on IR.

Overall, the stat comparison isn't even a comparison. On paper, The Patriots win this game every time. Unfortunately, the game is not played on paper. Despite the glaringly obvious advantage, The Patriots need to play like the team with something to prove. The Jaguars have no pressure to even be competitive in this game, but The Patriots are expected to blow them out. The story of the game will be how The Patriots respond to the pressure of facing an inferior team on the road. A mediocre effort will not be encouraging to the fan base or the organization as we move toward the postseason. Gotta bring it, boys!
