Jets Buy Tebow From Judas Elway
WOW? I am not sure how surprised I am that the J-E-T-S grabbed Tim Tebow in the open auction after the Peyton Manning signing. As far as I knew, they were not players in the contest, but low and behold: the Broncos trade Tebow to NYJ for 20 pieces of silver (reportedly).
On the real, Tebow was auctioned off for 2 picks in the upcoming draft, a 4th rounder and a 6th rounder. This has bad move written all over it for Denver. There is no way the fans will forgive John Elway if Manning fails to win in the playoffs.
Tim Tebow set the bar pretty high by winning a playoff game, and I think that fans of the team should be skeptical and nervous about bringing in a veteran that has health issues, undetermined arm strength, and a huge salary for 5 years? Tebow was young, and he was bringing in fans and media. He won a playoff game, and it is not right to ship him off after declaring him the starter through training camp.
Manning understands that his legacy nearly rests on winning two consecutive games in the playoffs. He may have underestimated the love for Tebow in Denver though.
