Playbook - Tebow 4th Down QB

I've got to admit, Tim Tebow is the best punt-team personal protector the NFL has to offer. The only Patriots personal protectors I can remember have made crucial mistakes. I recall Pat Chung fumbling the snap on a fake punt and Nate Ebner missing his block, but we rarely think about the positives on Special Teams. Honestly, Tebow is the perfect guy for the job, at least until he misses a block. Still, The Jets are using a punt formation that basically has Tim Tebow in the shotgun. Lets see what they're up to in Jersey:

Tebow is on the weak side of the formation with a 2-man line in front of him. The Punter (if punting) would step slightly to the strong side behind a 4-man line. The Long-Snapper is circled in red, and as you can see he's lined up directly on the hashmark. If you follow the hashmarks, you'll see that both Tebow and the Punter, Robert Malone, are lined up a step to the left and right of the Long-Snapper.

Since The Jets can block and punt effectively out of this formation, its not obvious that the snap will go to Tebow. Moreover, its not a crazy angular snap to some random Special Teams player. Tim Tebow is perfect for this situation, but still, how long will it be before the opponent just stops trying to block the kick?

Tebow probably has the option to run or pass, but this could be a designed run fake. He takes the snap and tucks it like a run. Nevertheless, #35 or #38 need to realize that there's a guy running a little pop-pass route. This might look weird because its an unbalanced formation, having the Guard snap the ball.  #54 Nick Bellore must have reported as an eligible receiver, but The Colts completely overlook him because of the unbalanced line.

The Patriots needs to respect Tebow's running and passing ability on 4th and 4 or less. I doubt our guys will be fooled by an unbalanced line. They've seen it on tape already, but I'd bet my last red cent that Sexy Rexy has something smelly in his sock just waiting to be used on The Patriots.

If there was ever a time to release the Tebow Time playbook, its in this match-up of 3-3 teams in the same division. Rex Ryan alluded to possibly using Tebow as a RB, meaning that he may get rushing opportunities from handoffs/tosses rather than direct snaps at Wildcat QB.
